Julia Franzosa Photography and another Santa Barbara Photographer, Ann Purdy Photography, will be teaming up for a charitable project in the next few months. In the meantime, we need some super cute furry models. If you have a young puppy, small dog, or even a big unique dog send me a photo and we may use your dog as a barksmodel (spokesmodel) for our event. If you have questions at all do not hesitate to call or email. A small hint about our event, it involves dogs, a studio, and charitable donations. =) We have one barksmodel already, you may recognize him from previous posts… My sweet Benny!

When preparing for a photography session in Santa Barbara, or anywhere for that matter what you wear has a huge    impact on your final photographs. It is really important for everyone to coordinate but not necessarily match perfectly. I    love textures and think that they photograph so beautifully, so always keep this in mind.

The best way to coordinate all outfits, is usually to start with Mom, for example a purple top with a pair of jeans or white  pants. Dad could also wear denim and incorporate a purple tie. Kids are the most fun to dress. Put your daughter in a  purple dress and son in a purple dress shirt, or again just a purple tie. So you can coordinate with a single color, or if you  are feeling brave you can coordinate with different colors in the same tonal range. Such as everyone in white with different  pastel accents. Or denim with darker jewel tones. Go crazy and have fun!

My favorite place to shop for children’s clothing in Santa Barbara is Mon Petit Bijou. There website looks a little limited, but when you go into the store it is amazing. They have clothing for infants to toddlers that are just perfect for your photography session! If you are a newborn client they also have beautiful strollers and to die  for cribs! My favorite crib is the Natart Leander, it has four stages; crib (with 2 mattress heights), daybed, transition bed and junior bed.

Sorry, I tend to get a little carried away with baby things!!! =) Good luck shopping and I can’t wait for our session!

My closest friend, Jen Wright moved to Georgia almost nine months ago, making her actually my furthest friend. We still talk all the time but it just isn’t the same. When she told me she was coming to California I was so happy. Jen was going to be around the San Diego area with her friend Carrie, but wouldn’t have a car. This meant I would have to drive, ugh! I hate driving!!! I decided it would be really fun to surprise her, so I told her I wasn’t going to be able to make it. She was sooooo happy when I showed up at her friend’s house.

We even got to photograph Carrie’s beautiful girls. They were so sweet and so much fun. Thank you all again, I had such a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful time!!!!

Jen Wright: What an awesome surprise it was!!! I could not have been more excited to see you friend. Thanks for making the trip. These photos are fantastic! You captured the girlies beautifully and they adored you! xoxo

Miss J didn’t take a good nap before our shoot, so we got off to a little bit of a rough start in the afternoon. She was a bit grumpy for the first part of our portrait session, but in the end we got some beautiful smiles from her. I had a lovely time, thank you so much for your support of Haiti!
