Best Fall Chicago Engagement Locations

I absolutely love fall engagement sessions! Not only do the transitioning colors create a beautiful backdrop for any outfit, but the crisp air encourages cuddles and embraces. If you read my Where and When to take Engagement Sessions post, you know that all seasons are special in Chicago, but my favorites are fall and Spring for their weather, colors and smells! I love fall engagement sessions because the outfit options are amazing! You can get away with a dress or pants and a sweater and most colors look beautiful against the autumn leaves! Here are a few of the best fall Chicago Engagement locations (click on the couple’s name for a full gallery).

Millennium Park

Millennium Park is one of my favorite fall Chicago engagement locations for many reasons. First, the beautiful juxtaposition between city skyline and gardens creates a stunning contrast. It truly is the best of both worlds! When the colors fade from green to brown and the surrounding trees transition to deep reds and yellows, Millennium Park’s Lurie Gardens become a fall oasis. Check out Kailee + Brandon and Laura + Luke‘s Millennium Park engagement sessions below. Aren’t they lovely?

Lincoln Park

The reflections on the Caldwell Lily Pond in Chicago’s Lincoln Park are absolutely stunning in the fall. The draping yellow tree canopies and floating leaves make for gorgeous, naturally framed images. I loved shooting Erin + Michael‘s engagement session in Lincoln Park. Erin’s red dress looked so perfect against the autumnal scene.

Humboldt Park

At this point, you’re probably starting to catch onto the trend…my favorite Chicago Fall Engagement Locations are almost always parks! Like Millennium and Lincoln Parks, Humboldt Park is another fantastic option for fall engagement sessions. The purples, oranges and yellows create so many options for outfits. I loved Laura’s decision to wear denim! Check out Laura + Antonio‘s session!

Chicago Streets

Generally when I shoot engagement sessions, we move between a couple locations, often starting in a couple’s home or neighborhood. I love shooting in locations that have meaning to my couples. Whether it is a neighborhood where they met or in the comfort of their home, there are so many options! I loved shooting Lindsay + Tom‘s Gold Coast session. The contrast between old row houses against the skyscrapers is so striking and interesting. I love how each building is completely different…there are definitely many options!

All in all, I suggest choosing a location that has some meaning to you as a couple and brings back special memories. There are so many options, and any one that you choose will be fantastic and unique!

Do you have other favorite fall Chicago engagement locations? I’d love to hear from you!
