Mismatched bridesmaids dresses are an awesome way to add style, dynamic and color to your wedding day. I love mix and match dresses because they are trendy, modern and stylish and allow you to cater to the many shapes and personalities of your bridal party!

The mismatched bridesmaid dress trend began with celebrity weddings, but it has swept across weddings everywhere in the recent years. Many dress makers have started adding mix and match dresses to their collections! I love this trend for many reasons! Here are 5 reasons to love mismatched bridal dresses:

 

Add more depth and colors to your wedding

There are a lot of ways to add color and depth to your wedding, whether it’s through wedding bouquets or decorations, but have you considered adding texture and depth through mismatched bridesmaids dresses? When picking bridesmaids dresses, opt for similar color schemes (warms should be with warms, etc.). I love what Jessie and Evan did with their bridal party (below), opting for similar but different dresses in a similar pink hues and accentuating the maids of honor with vastly different styles. The varying necklines and straps gives each bridesmaid their own twist! Love it 🙂

Bridesmaids feel comfortable in their dresses (and are more likely to wear them again)

When your bridesmaids feel comfortable in their dress, it shows in pictures. They don’t have to worry about slipping out of their dresses or feel like they have to compare how they look in a dress to supermodel Sally. On the same note, they will also be more comfortable paying for a dress that they love and are more likely to re-wear their bridesmaid dress in the future (yay!). Going off the last point, the easiest way to ensure that your friends and family are comfortable in their dresses is by catering to their varied personalities and shapes. This is my favorite part about mismatched bridesmaids dresses. Everyone is unique and they should feel that way in their gowns. I love what Courtney and Rory did with their bridesmaids (below). By opting for the same color, at first glance, you don’t notice the different dresses. But up close, it’s clear that each woman had her input!
