Santa Barbara Engagement Photographer | Trails and Beaches… oh California!

I don’t even know where to start with this perfect session… with this perfect couple. Cosmo and I have know Derek and Lisa for almost four years (I think!), Cosmo met Derek while they both worked at Elements Restaurant in Santa Barbara. Lisa was literally the girl next door! The first time they met was on the porch of Elements, Lisa was going to be turning 21 in a few weeks and Derek wanted to be the first to buy her a drink so he gave her an Elements gift card. Soon after, they started going on hikes and Lisa said “we fell in love on the many hikes we took on the cold springs trail…thus why he chose montecito peak for a proposal spot.” After a few years of super cute love, Derek proposed at one of their special spots. They were meant to be, just like everything for their engagement session just fell perfectly into place.

They got engaged less than a month ago and I happened to be heading to Santa Barbara to photograph a wedding. It was perfect, perfect timing! I had been planning to photograph an engagement session and it fell through at the last minute. I still really wanted to do it so I talked to Lisa and they were game. We even had Lisa’s hair and makeup done by Leah of Dreamcatcher Make-Up and Hair. She was absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend having your hair and make-up done for your engagement session. Derek and Lisa, thank you so much – I am so happy that I got to spend some time with you two! Congratulations, again!!! I may live in Chicago, but I travel to California multiple times throughout the year. If you are looking for a Santa Barbara engagement photographer, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
